# Higgsfield: Manage Characters

Create a reusable SOUL character from reference images and check when it is ready to use.

Find this node under **Higgsfield** in the action picker. It uses a [Higgsfield connection](/integrations/connection-providers/media/higgsfield.md).

## Set up the node

1. Add **Higgsfield: Manage Characters** to your workflow.
2. Select your Higgsfield connection.
3. Choose **Model / Action**. The configuration form changes to match your choice.
4. Fill the required fields, using values from earlier steps where needed.
5. Save your changes and run the step. Review its result in **Build** or **History**.

## Parameters and inputs

The fields depend on the selected action. Use the labels, required markers, and available choices shown in your form.

| Input                | What to provide                                                                |
| -------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Model / Action       | Choose **Soul ID — Create character** or **Get SOUL Character Training**.      |
| Character references | Supply the name, references, and model version requested by the creation form. |
| Character ID         | For a status check, use the character ID returned by the creation step.        |

## Outputs

A character ID and training status. The status action checks the same character without creating a new one.

Training is not immediate. Wait for the character to be ready and use the matching SOUL model version.

## Example

Create a character from a consistent set of approved reference images. Check its training status, then use its character ID with a compatible SOUL image action.

Availability of individual models and resources depends on your provider account. A successful connection does not grant access to every action.
